The GIANTS are on track for record membership numbers in 2016 as the club hits 13,000 members in the same week they’ll sell out Spotless Stadium for the very first time.
The GIANTS broke the 13,000 mark on Tuesday afternoon, reaching 13,031 members - 13.5 per cent ahead of this time last year. It took until July 18 last year to reach the same total.
It’s a big milestone for the club ahead of the GIANTS’ 100th game in the AFL on Sunday against the Swans at Spotless Stadium. The Sydney Derby X is set to be one of the biggest games NSW has ever seen.
As of Tuesday lunchtime, general admission and reserved seat tickets for the game were exhausted. A limited number of standing room and restricted view seats will be released with the game almost guaranteed to sell out in the next few days.
The GIANTS are encouraging all members to make sure they get to this week’s game and help create a sea of orange to cheer our team on. If you’re not able to attend the game, give your tickets to a friend so there’s no empty seats on Sunday.
GIANTS 2016 General Admission members will be able to scan in however we suggest you arrive early to secure a seat.
Last season the GIANTS again set a new membership record as 13,480 people signed up and it looks like the club could be set for a big rise in 2016.
It’s still not too late to get on board with five big games left at Spotless Stadium for the season.
Following the Sydney Derby, the round 16 match against Collingwood will be the first time the Magpies have played at Spotless Stadium since 2014 while Carlton, under new coach Brendan Bolton, will also return to Spotless Stadium for the third year in a row.
The GIANTS will then face the West Coast Eagles and Fremantle at home back-to-back in rounds 21 and 22.
