After the GIANTS’ demolition of Fremantle, three players have made their way into the Team of the Week for the penultimate round of the AFL season.

A career-high six-goal haul for Jonathon Patton helped the GIANTS to the emphatic 92-point win over Fremantle at Spotless Stadium on Saturday. It also earned him a start in the forward line of this round’s Team of the Week.

Patton overcame a quiet start to finish with eight marks, six of them inside 50, and half a dozen majors, after kicking two in each of the last three quarters.

Defender Nick Haynes has gone from strength to strength this season and dominated down back on Saturday.

He was moved on to Dockers livewire Shane Yarran who kicked three first-quarter majors with Haynes then keeping the forward goalless for the remainder of the match.

Veteran midfielder Ryan Griffen has been in superb form since returning from a hamstring injury in round 19.

The match against Fremantle was arguably his best game of the season as he dominated with his class through the middle.

Half Back - NICK HAYNES

The young GIANT was a star against Fremantle, gathering 21 disposals and taking 13 marks, while adding 11 one percenters to his outstanding game.
