The GIANTS have today received Essendon’s pick 77 in the 2016 NAB AFL Draft in exchange for forward James Stewart.

The 22-year old played 18 games for the GIANTS in four seasons after being drafted with pick 27 in the 2012 NAB AFL Draft.

Stewart added one AFL game to his tally this season before playing a key role as a forward in the GIANTS NEAFL Premiership side.

GIANTS General Manager Football Wayne Campbell said: “James wanted the opportunity to play more senior football and we were willing to work with him to explore options.

“James made a valuable contribution to the GIANTS and we wish him the best at Essendon.”
